Unsung Heroes :Faizan Buzdar

A   graduate of GIKI, Faizan Buzdar is the CEO and founder of Convo, a provider of cloud-based digital collaboration workspaces for companies, and their teams, where the visual conversations around multiple files, content, and images are critical to advancing business. Convo eliminates the need to jump in and out of emails and applications and accelerates how teams share information, collaborate on work and make decisions.

Faizan is a hands-on executive, entrepreneur and product leader who possesses a unique combination of skills in technology, engineering, and interactive design. What has driven Faizan in his years of product development is the application of a human-driven approach to product design: great products are designed for people, by people.

Faizan is known for leading cross-functional teams across multiple locations around the globe. This experience has shaped how he developed Convo: to fully support a fast-moving, agile, globally-dispersed business beyond any product or service currently available. You have to go broad and deep to understand what customers need, you have to continuously get and apply that customer insight, and you have to discover and liberate individual talent and collective, cross-functional teams creativity to create unique solutions that drive business success.
Prior to Convo, he launched groundbreaking online organizer Scrybe (www.iscrybe.com), known for its enterprising use of web technologies and user experience. The unique viral video used for Scrybes beta launch has almost 500,000 views on YouTube and upon its launch, created enough of a buzz for the likes of Adobe, NY-Times, Washington Post, CNET, Wired, and Gartner etc. to take note. Scrybe is funded by a major US technology giant, Adobe. Faizan also held senior product roles at Ultimus and Elixir Technologies.

Faizan holds several patents and has designed and taught workshops and classes on human interaction and object-oriented programming to undergraduate and graduate students in Pakistan at the National University of Science & Technology (NUST), IQRA University and the National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (FAST).

Faizan Buzdar’s visionary startup Convo.com even had the United States President, Barack Obama, marveling at his work and commenting on why people like Buzdar were the reason why immigration reform in the US was necessary. His innovative startup that provides a collaborative workspace for global organizations has led to five million dollars in funding from venture capitalists in the US, including Morgenthaler Ventures, which has significant holdings in tech giants such as Apple.
